The service

GoalMate is a social platform that helps people reach wellbeing goals together, through groups, challenges and check-ins. The service is provided by [GoalMate company name], VAT no. [00000000000].

Who can use it

To create an account you must be at least 18 years old and provide truthful information. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe.

Not a medical service

GoalMate does not provide diagnoses, treatments or medical advice. Content is for information only. Before starting to change your weight or activity, talk to your doctor. The app does not accept weight goals below a safety threshold and flags paces that are too fast.

Community rules

We are committed to a kind and safe environment. The following are not allowed:

• comments on other people's bodies or weight;
• encouraging extreme or dangerous eating behaviour;
• harassment, discrimination, spam or illegal content;
• pornographic or sexually explicit images.

Explicit images are blocked automatically. The first violation gets a warning, the second suspends the account for 3 days, and a violation after you come back closes the account permanently. Images showing war, accidents or violence stay hidden unless you choose to see them. You can report misbehaviour: if many trusted people report it, a review (which may be automated) can lead to a suspension. You can always ask for a decision to be reviewed.

Live broadcasts

If you have the required level you can broadcast live video to the members of one of your circles or groups. The community rules above apply, plus these.

• Who sees it. Only the members of the circle or group you go live in: there are no public broadcasts. People whom you blocked, or removed from the broadcast, cannot watch it.
• Checked in real time. While you broadcast we keep checking images and voice, also with the help of artificial intelligence suppliers that you will find in the Privacy notice. That is why viewers see the broadcast with a safety delay of a few seconds. The check is made by sampling and no check is perfect: if you see something wrong, report the broadcast.
• A broadcast can be interrupted. It is stopped at once if the check finds sexually explicit content or illegal activity, if an administrator stops it or if the feature is switched off. If the check does not work, the broadcast pauses and, if the check is not back soon, it ends: it never carries on unchecked.
• What is not allowed. The community rules apply: no sexually explicit or illegal content, no comments on other people's bodies or weight, no harassment. In a broadcast do not give medical or dietary advice and do not encourage extreme or dangerous diets.
• Consequences. The ladder is the same as for images and video and counts across everything together: for sexually explicit content or illegal activity in a broadcast, the broadcast is stopped at once and a person on our team looks at the case before anything is applied (nothing is applied automatically); if they confirm the violation, the first time you get a warning, the second time the account is suspended for 3 days, and if it happens again after you come back the account is closed permanently. For offensive speech you get a notice and, if it is serious or repeated, the broadcast is stopped, with no automatic sanction. If you say words that push towards practices dangerous to health, we stop the broadcast and an administrator looks at the case, with no automatic suspension. Images of war, accidents or violence are not sanctioned: the broadcast is covered by a veil and only people who choose to see it do so.
• Review. You can always ask for a sanction to be reviewed, from the link you receive by email: a person on our team looks at it and, if they uphold your request, we cancel the violation and delete the material we kept.
• People you film. Broadcast only if you have the right to do so and do not film anyone without their knowledge: at your first broadcast we ask you to confirm it. You are responsible for what you broadcast and for whom you film. Anyone who appears in a broadcast and does not want to can report it or write to privacy@goalmate.it.
• Comments and reactions. Viewers can send short reactions and comments. Comments are checked before they appear and those that break the rules do not appear. The person broadcasting can turn comments off, hide a comment, mute or remove a viewer. Comments and reactions are not kept: we delete them shortly after the broadcast ends.
• The video stays among your posts. If the broadcast ends normally (you end it, it reaches the maximum length or the connection drops) and is not too short, the video is prepared and checked in full and becomes a post of yours on its own, in the same circle or group. Until it is ready only you can see it. You do not have to do anything and you can delete it whenever you like, like any post of yours. If the broadcast was interrupted or is too short, no post is made.
• Limits. We may limit the number, length and audience of broadcasts, or switch the feature off, at any time.

Plans and payments

The Free plan is available with no time limit. The Pro plan is a renewable monthly subscription you can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the paid period. Pro gives no advantage in the community: levels and social abilities are earned through consistency. Prices include VAT.

Your content

The content you post remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to show it to the users you choose to share it with.

Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the app.

Withdrawal and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from activating Pro.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the courts of their place of residence have jurisdiction.
